Same-day possible

Some of the credit providers we work with may pay approved loans out on the same day after approval and successful verification.

Not everyone qualifies for same-day payout. Timing depends on the provider, approval, verification, banking cut-offs, and your individual circumstances. Payment is made by the credit provider, not by Lumo.

How it works

Three simple steps — no documents to upload, no credit check to start.

1

Tell us what you need

Share a few honest details about your situation and the amount you're looking for. It takes about two minutes.

2

We match your profile

We check your answers against the criteria of the registered credit providers and brokers we work with.

3

A matched provider gets in touch

If there's a fit, a real person from a matched provider reaches out to complete their own assessment. Approval is never guaranteed.

Where Lumo ends and the lender begins

Lumo is a loan enquiry and referral platform — not a lender. Here's who does what.

Lumo (our platform)

  • Collects your enquiry details securely
  • Matches your profile to registered credit providers
  • Introduces you to a provider that may be able to help
  • Never charges you a fee to use this service

The credit provider

  • Runs their own affordability and credit assessment
  • Makes the final approval decision
  • Sets the loan amount, interest rate, fees, and term
  • Pays out the loan and manages repayment

Estimate only — not a quote, offer, or guarantee of credit. Your actual repayment is set by the credit provider.

Loan amounts available through providers we work with typically range from R500 to R350,000. Repayment terms typically range from 3 to 72 months. The maximum interest rates and fees chargeable are governed by the NCA. Any final quote is provided by the credit provider.

We're an enquiry service — not a lender.

Lumo helps South Africans see what loan options they may qualify for, based on the information you share. We're not the ones lending money — any loan is subject to the credit provider's own criteria and affordability assessment, in line with the National Credit Act.

Borrow responsibly

Credit is a serious commitment. Please only apply for what you genuinely need and can comfortably afford to repay.

Affordability comes first

Every credit provider we introduce is required to do a full affordability assessment before approving any loan. If a loan isn't right for your situation, you shouldn't take it — and a responsible provider won't offer it.

Missing payments has consequences

If you fall behind on repayments, the credit provider may charge additional interest and fees, report the missed payments to the credit bureaus, and take legal steps to recover the debt. This can damage your credit profile and make it harder to borrow in future.

If you're struggling with debt, free help is available — including the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and registered debt counsellors.
